Our study begins with a customer placing one online construction-material order — bulbs, tube lights, taps, sanitaryware, and copper pipes — connecting instantly to three suppliers in different locations. Each supplier prepares its products while trucks travel to collect them, but logistics gets tricky: different sizes, weights, fragility, and construction sites need special access and unloading requirements. Enter the 3PL provider — a central hub linking suppliers, warehouse, trucks, drivers, and customer, acting as the physical logistics partner coordinating pickup, transportation, warehousing, and final delivery. The first model is Supplier or Vendor Direct Delivery: the supplier loads a truck, which travels straight to the customer, delivering products quickly without any warehouse stop. The second model is Warehouse-Based Fulfillment: products travel from supplier to the 3PL warehouse, get stored, picked, packed, then loaded onto a truck for delivery to the customer. The third model, Hybrid Logistics, sends one bulky product directly to the customer while a standard product flows through the warehouse — both routes converging at the same customer, completing our full picture: suppliers, 3PL, and all three delivery paths. How do we choose the right 3PL provider?
