When enrolling in Zelle, a client first picks their primary token — either their email address or their mobile phone number — to identify their account. Once they've chosen their token, they then select which eligible bank account they want to link and connect to that token for transactions. For example, a client could enroll in Consumer Zelle using their mobile number and connect it directly to their personal checking account. Zelle for Small Business works exactly the same way, but there is one very important rule that clients must keep in mind before enrolling. The client cannot reuse the same token for both enrollments. So if their mobile number is already used for Consumer Zelle, they must use their email address for Small Business Zelle instead. The key takeaway is this: both Consumer and Small Business Zelle can share the same client profile, but each enrollment must always have its own unique, separate token.
