The shared question Over three days in Barcelona, people gathered around a shared question: who gets to understand, shape, and verify the terms of the systems we all depend on? When those terms are difficult to see or understand, it becomes harder to question them, harder to negotiate them, and harder to change them. But when information becomes legible, something changes. People can see what is actually in front of them. They can examine the consequences, question the assumptions, and ask who made the rules and who those rules affect. Understanding does not simply make information clearer. It gives people a greater ability to participate in the decisions that shape their lives. Tools, Tribe and Trust From AI tools that serve real decisions, to questions of who owns and governs shared assets, to commercial claims that can be traced, challenged and trusted, the summit explored three connected ideas: tools, tribe and trust. The first is capability: what can new tools actually help people understand and do? The second is ownership: who controls the infrastructure, who makes the decisions, and who shares in the benefits? And the third is trust: can a claim be traced back to evidence, checked across organisations, challenged when something is wrong, and corrected when conditions change? These questions are connected. The contract that brings them together is not finished. It remains on the table, and many hands are still writing it.
