How God Draws People to Salvation

John 6:44 tells us that no one can come to Jesus unless the Father draws him — but does that mean God forces people against their will, or is something far more loving happening here? God sovereignly designed humans with free will, and because no one seeks God on their own, He lovingly takes the initiative — wooing us the way a groom woos a bride, not dragging her to the altar. Jesus said that when He is lifted up on the cross, He will draw all people to Himself. The cross is God's ultimate proof of love, exposing our sin and offering salvation to everyone who believes. God also draws people through His Word. Jesus quotes Isaiah, saying everyone taught by God who hears and learns will come to Him — just as a receptive heart is always rewarded with more truth. The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, using divine persuasion to convince and draw people — though a person can still understand the truth and choose to reject it. God uses all these means together — creation, the cross, the Word, the Spirit, and people like you — working in harmony so that whoever responds in faith receives everlasting life and the promise of resurrection.
