How Humans Turned Darkness Into Daylight. Long ago, our ancestors sat in total darkness, afraid of the night and everything hidden inside it. Then came fire. A stick figure struck stones together, sparks flew, and suddenly a small flame pushed back the shadows for the very first time. Fire became torches, and torches became oil lamps, carried by stick figures walking through caves, huts, and dark village paths at night. Centuries later, candles appeared, dripping wax slowly, giving stick figures a steadier, cleaner glow to read, work, and gather by at night. Then came a spark of genius: electricity. A stick figure connected wires, and glowing filaments lit rooms without any flame at all. Soon, whole cities glowed at night, streets, homes, and towers shining brightly, as stick figures walked confidently beneath endless rows of electric light.
