IEEE BUB: Where It All Begins

Welcome! Before we kick off today's competition, let us take a moment to introduce the organization that made this incredible student event possible and brought all of you together here today. It all started with two brilliant minds — Thomas Edison and Alexander Graham Bell — who shared a powerful desire to invent, innovate, and most importantly, to communicate and connect with the world around them. Their vision inspired others. More and more students and curious minds gathered around, forming a community built on learning, sharing knowledge, and collaborating together to solve the world's greatest challenges. From that community grew something remarkable. A timeline of progress leads us from those two scientists, through generations of collaboration, all the way to the founding of IEEE — and ultimately to our very own IEEE BUB. IEEE BUB is a vibrant student organization that opens doors to real experiences. Here, students work on laptops, build circuits, give presentations, collaborate on projects, and grow through hands-on workshops every single day. IEEE BUB is where technical skills like coding and engineering meet non-technical skills like leadership, communication, and teamwork — creating well-rounded students ready to shape the future together as one strong community.
