Genesis 12 tells us that God called Abraham to leave his country, his relatives, and his father’s house, promising to bless him and make him a blessing to the nations. The Bible tells us that Jesus is the Word of God made flesh—the visible revelation of the invisible God. Through Abraham’s promised seed, God would bring blessing to the nations, a promise fulfilled in Jesus Christ. Genesis 12 is therefore not just the story of one man’s journey. It points us toward God’s greater plan of salvation through Christ. So, when you read Genesis 12, look beyond Abraham. Look for Jesus.
