Scariest Mythical Creatures: Wendigo

Full transcript

Deep in the frozen forests of North America lurks a legend so terrifying, hunters still fear whispering its name. They call it the Wendigo, a cursed spirit born from starvation, desperation, and the darkest taboo of all: cannibalism. Once human, the Wendigo transforms into a towering, skeletal beast with glowing eyes and a hunger that can never be satisfied. Its skin stretches tight over bones, its breath reeks of decay, and its howl echoes through snow-covered wilderness at night. Native folklore warns that the more it eats, the hungrier it grows, forever starving despite endless, grotesque feasting. Travelers claim strange tracks appear in deep snow, too large for any man, too long for any animal, always alone. To this day, many believe the Wendigo still roams the woods, waiting silently for the next lost soul to wander near.
