Good morning. Today, I will solve two quadratic-function problems. I will show my working step by step and explain how to get each answer. First, I set both equations equal, rearranged them, and completed the square to solve for x, then substituted to find y. Next, I used completing the square again on the second quadratic to find its axis of symmetry and minimum value. In conclusion, I solved the simultaneous equations by completing the square and substitution. I also used completing the square to find the minimum value of the second quadratic function.
