The Chosen Undead and the First Flame

Full transcript

Inside the burned ruins of the Kiln of the First Flame, the Chosen Undead slowly approaches Gwyn. Gwyn attacks with terrifying speed, his flaming greatsword clashing again and again. Sparks, embers and burning stone fly as the Chosen Undead barely survives, until he finds an opening and strikes Gwyn down. Gwyn staggers, falls to his knees, and his flaming greatsword crashes to the stone floor. His divine light fades as his body collapses into ash and embers. The Chosen Undead approaches the ancient Bonfire, hesitates, then reaches out and links the First Flame, which erupts into white-gold and orange fire around him. The chamber grows darker as the Bonfire burns at its center. The Chosen Undead sits quietly beside it, exhausted, his sword resting at his side. Flames rise and flicker around him, yet he does not burn. The camera slowly pulls back until he and the Bonfire become a small point of light in the vast darkness, a lonely sacrifice continuing the Age of Fire.
