Hello everyone! Welcome to today's lesson with Ms. Hanan Qotb. Today we are going to learn about the amazing human digestive system in a simple and fun way! Everything starts in your mouth! When you eat food, your teeth chew it into tiny pieces, and your saliva helps make it soft and easy to swallow. After you swallow, the food travels down a long tube called the esophagus. This tube connects your mouth all the way down to your stomach, pushing food along with gentle muscle movements. Now the food arrives at the stomach! The stomach is like a strong bag that squeezes and mixes the food with special juices, turning everything into a smooth, soupy liquid. Next, the liquid food moves into the small intestine, which is a very long, coiled tube. Here, all the good nutrients and vitamins are absorbed into your blood to give your body energy. Finally, whatever the body does not need passes into the large intestine, where water is absorbed. The remaining waste is then removed from the body. That is how digestion works — amazing, right?
