Have you ever wondered why scientists keep testing everything on mice? Like… what did mice do to deserve this? Scientists have labs full of mice — and somehow the mouse is still doing unpaid overtime. Mice share many genes with humans, making them incredibly useful for studying diseases and testing treatments. But chimpanzees are genetically even closer to us. So why not use chimps? Because a chimpanzee is not something you casually put in a lab cage. Mice are small, easy to handle, and reproduce super fast. Basically, they run through generations like they've got somewhere to be. So the next time you see a mouse, remember — you might be looking at the most overworked employee in all of science.
